Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer has taken over from breast cancer to become the third biggest cancer killer in the UK. One hundred and twenty thousand (120,000) men die every year in the UK. That's one person every 45 seconds.

The rise in numbers is generally due to a growing and ageing population.

If you are at all worried about prostrate cancer, or anything else, you should see your doctor. As a man this can be a difficult thing to do but you need to take ownership of your own destiny. No-one else can do that for you.

Ignoring the symptoms, or that nagging feeling in the back of your mind, will not make it go away. However, hard facts will. They will either alleviate the problem as you will find out you had nothing to worry about or they will start you on a journey. The earlier you begin this journey, the sooner you seek treatment, the more positive the prognosis is likely to be.

Doctors have seen it all. They do not view you how you view yourself. To them you are just patient number X that week with a concern that requires sorting. So take a deep breathe, make that appointment and see your Doctor.
